Business listings built from public sources

We publish business information from public records: Companies House (registered company details), the Food Standards Agency (food hygiene ratings), OpenStreetMap and businesses’ own websites. This is business information, not personal data about private individuals. Where a sole trader’s details may identify them, our lawful basis is legitimate interests: helping people find local businesses and helping those businesses be found. We don’t publish home addresses from company registrations; for those records we show the town only.

Want your listing removed or corrected? Contact us and we’ll act within 5 working days, or claim the listing and edit it yourself.

Information you give us

• Listing submissions and claims: business details and a contact email, used to verify the listing and let you manage it (contract / legitimate interests).
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. We keep invoice records for 6 years as required by HMRC (legal obligation).
• Enquiries: your name, email and message, used to reply and to deliver services you buy.

Cookies

We only use essential cookies: a session cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics, we will update this page and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Who we share data with

Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider, our hosting provider in the UK/EU, and Cloudflare (security and performance). We don’t sell personal data.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Email us to use these rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Retention

Unconfirmed submissions are deleted after 30 days. Account data is kept while you have a listing, and removed on request.
